ENG vs IND: Liam Dawson Replaces Shoaib Bashir in England’s Squad for Fourth Test in Manchester

England secured a 22-run victory over India in the third Test at Lord’s. The England squad for the fourth Test against India, scheduled to begin on July 23 at Old Trafford in Manchester, has been announced with one change. Liam Dawson replaces Shoaib Bashir, who was ruled out for the remainder of the series after sustaining a finger fracture while fielding in the third Test at Lord’s.

England: Liam Dawson returns to the Test side after an eight-year hiatus, having last played in 2017. His strong performances for Hampshire in the County Championship earned him the call-up. National selector Luke Wright praised Liam Dawson, saying, “Liam Dawson deserves his call-up. He has been in outstanding form in the County Championship and consistently puts in strong performances for Hampshire.”

Additionally, Sam Cook and Jamie Overton have been released to return to their counties for the County Championship. The rest of the squad remains unchanged.

England leads the five-match series 2-1 and aims to extend their winning momentum and clinch the series in the upcoming Test.
